10d the BIG question...
Why do you think the Sainsbury's superstore in Farnham chose to locate in Waterlane?Try and think of at least three factors that may have influenced this decision.
i think sainsburys chose to locate here because it is a very busy road and a lot of people drive past it so they get lots of business. also another reason for locating here is that people live quite close to it so it ideal if they want to go shopping and they will get business from this becausev it is there local shopping centre. i think they located the sainsburys in watrerlane because it is near a large roundabout where many people go round and it is also a near very busys round so the sainsburys will be seen and most likely used for the shop or the petrol station. it is also not far from the town or houseing so people wont have to travel far to get there. mitch hench lucas
. no other competion with other stores . near town and houses , so good location . easy to get too and has big enough land for the store and the car park for customers
The reasons that they located Sainsburys in water lane is becasue it is in it's own location so no other customers chould use their car park. Also it is easy to get to becasue of the large plot of land that is provided. Also is is futher away from other super stores so their is no competition in selling products.
three factors that may have influenced this decision is its near a school so looks of parents will see it and maybe go there, there was a big space of land to buy, it was probably cheaper cos its near a sewage plant HaNnAh CoLe
They may have decided to build it in Waterlane because: - There was enough land for them to build a superstore and a vast car park so that parking is not an issue of companies, - The site may have been a brown field site which means that they won't have to get as much planning permission and - As it is not in the centre of Farnham, it reduces the conjestion around Farnham. Olly Wearing.
Some reasons why Sainsury's may have to decided to locate in Waterlane are; there is a lot of space to build a superstore and a suitable car park, it's near a roundabout which can lead to various towns so it would be a popular store to go to as lots of people would see it and there is a fish market next to it so it would be easier to get fish from there and it would be cheaper because of less transport and fresher fish. They shouldn't have located there though as it is right next to the sewers. lace
Because there was a space for something to go there. Because loads of people drive past it all the time, so there will be loads of business. And because it is near houses so that people will go to sainsburys when they are shopp9ing for stuff, like fish fingers and sopaghetti hoops. Bradley Woolford.
Sainsbury's is located where it is for different reasons, such as the space available at the time, how much the land costs, and has eaqsy access from main roads and village roads alike, however there are downalls of where the chose to locate such as the local sewage plant and traffic the builds during rush hour.
they located there as, there was alot of free space. it is now located near a roundabout, which takes you to other places, this means it is popular. fish store right next to it, sdo they might get their fish products from their. this could happen as it would cost less as their is no transport costs needed.
however i dont think they should of located there as the sewers make it smell.

More people will pass the shop located in waterlane so there will be more business for the sainsburys resulting in a better Inncome.

Easy to get to and has a petrol station and lives near local residents and so it is their local shopping centre.
