10A BIG question
Why do you think the Sainsbury's superstore in Farnham chose to locate in Waterlane? Try and think of at least three factors that may have influenced this decision. Don't forget to add your name to your post
i think the reason why sainsburys located there store on waterlane was that it was a good location in town near the town center this means it would be convient for customers. They could also get more customers due to lack of competition in that perticular area. Another reason is that it is easy for suppliers to get to the store. because they are a big store they might sell other items that the other super markets in the area might not sell.
Sainsbury's may have chosen to locate at Water Lane because it was right by a motorway, people who have been driving for a long time may be in need of refreshments, and Sainsbury's is there for them, they may also have chosen Water Lane because it is very close to warehouse storages, they may get some of their stock from here. (Coudn't think of a third)
I think they chose to locate in waterlane for several reasons, there was a lot of space to build a large store and petrol station, it's on the edge of farnham so people will see it when they enter farnham, it's next to a motor way which means they could get more business, and it's only a few minutes from town. Sainsbury's also has a smaller store in farnham, there would have been no point putting it near the other store, or maybe the smaller one was getting so much business they decided to open another to make more money.
The factors which may influence the desion are that there may hae more customers to shop in there store in that area than in farnham. Also it may be cheap to build their business there as it might cost more money in farnham.
one factor would be because its next to a main road and people can see it and go there, secondly its not far from housing so people wont have to travel far and lastly its easy to get so deliverys can get in there without trouble.
sainsburys have located in waterlane because, it is next to a motorway and say someone has been driving all day they might want to stop off and refresh them selfs
The factors that might influence the decison are that there may have more customer to shop in the store, rather than in Farnham. Also it might be cheaper to build there, as Farnham may have higher costs for stores.
i think they chose waterlane because there was a good ammount of land to build it on and its right next to a motorway so people may need to go to sainburys petrol station another reason is it is near farnhams egde meaning people will see it coming in and coming out of town :) :)
The factors that may have influenced this decision could be the fact that there may have been more potential customers when building a supermarket in this location, the cost to build on the location may have been less than somewhere else, or demand might have been higher in a more residential area.
i think they chose waterlane because there was good amount of land to buid it on and its right next to a motorway so people mat need to go to sainsburys petrol station another reason is it is near farnhams edge meaning people will see it coming out of town ;) ;) :D
1)it will atract more customers because it is next to an endustrial estate. 2)It is next to the hogs back witchis always busy. 3)Has the space to expand more.
I think Sainbury's chose Waterlane because there isn't any competition. There is loads of space for cars, and its in a good location. eg inbetweeen Guildford and Basingstoke.
Tyánni; -there is a lot of land for the building meaning more space inside and for parking. -it is in a good location in terms of being 'local' for more than one town. -being next to the motorway is useful for petrol.
Sainbury's has the ability to expand more,it has less competition and more land for parking and a car wash. It also has recycling bins and a starbucks.
