Waterlane has a lot of cars driving past on a day to day basis so with a big supermarket they will have more customers than a normal size supermarket. There are not other supermarkets located near it meaning that they are the only supermarket in that area.
It is because their location is easy for people to access and is convienient. This ensures sales to be made. They may also be the only supermarket in their area so Sainsbury do not need to worry about competitors.

i believe they located there as it is inbetween farnhaham town centre and neighbouring villages of hale, badshot lea and heath end so they will have many customers who live fairly near. people will not use the car park for anything else as there is nothing around so it can save money building dat stuff, it is seen vary often as it is next to main roads so it will be seen by customers so they know 2 go there

Land and Premises could have affect to this decision for instance the price of the land may have been cheap and the space available was convenient for sainsburys. Also another idea could have been that the area was very suited for the supermarket to make business than other places available.
