Read the Farmhouse Fare case study carefully on page 150. Why do you think Helen chooses to make cakes by hand? What do you think the disadvantages of making them this way are?

  3. Helen chooses to make cakes by hand so she can adapt the customer need. A disadvantage of making cakes by hand is that you cannot make the quantities that big factories can. from Billy and Ersin and Matt and Jake

  4. helen chooses to make the puddings by hand because she feels that she can get better quality puddings if she makes them by hand.
    the disadvantage of making the puddings by hand is that less are made(low production rate)

    We think Helen makes her cakes by hand because she wants to keep being traditional to her earlier farm life.

    A disadvantages of making them by hand is that she does not to use mass production methods but by doing this it will take even longer to make large quantities of the puddings.

    - Helen makes the puddings by hand because she probably thinks that hand-crafted goods are of higher quality
    - The disadvantages are that it is slower, you have to extra strict with health and safety (making sure that employees was their hands thoroughly etc) and you might not get as much profit by paying people to do what a machine could do for free (not including the cost to pay for one)
