Briefly read this article. At what stage of the product lifecycle do HP think PCs are at? Do you think they have made a good decision?

  1. Decline. Yes because without a new inovation to the market it will start to decline until no more.

  2. Decline, they have noticed that the tablet and smartphone market is rapidly increasing and with the new releases of macbooks they are struggling to sell PC's. They have realised that PC's are in decline as they cannot keep up with the new technologies of apple & android software. I think that they have made a bad decision because some people do not understand how to use new technologies like tablets and people may find that computers are easier to use as they have been round for longer so i think they have made a mistake when they sold their desktop PC brands.

  3. HP think that PCs are at the stage of decline in the product life cycle. I dont think that they have made the right decision in ditching their company because the world of technology and PCs is still growing so instead they can bring out a new up to date product that people will like and that will bring them profit.

  4. HP thinks that PCs have reached the stage in their lifecycle in which they are declining and that they are likely to reach a point in which only the people that specifically need a PC will buy one, and as a result are selling off their PC and similar businesses such as tablets. This is likely a good idea because since they don't believe that the PC industry is worth persuing and won't earn much profit, they can instead use the money saved from to feed their more promising markets.

  6. decline because pc's are becoming more and more out dated and laptops are in the growth stage a more people are buying laptops and some businesses are changing there idea and foucusing more on laptops than big pc's and also they will be pulling out of that market area because they wont be able to make as much profit from it

  8. i think the stage is Decline, because they are changing the market they are aiming at because now they arent doing as many products profit will go down. i think they have made a bad decision because more people are buying tablets are smartphones and they want to get rid of them.

  9. maturity/decline as sales are falling but still high but as laptops get faster and smaller the will replace the desktop soon so the reduced manufacture of PCs so i think they have made a logical decision but could of kept on making some PCs for people that need then for tasks incapable for a laptop.

  10. HP think that PCs are on the decline because they have decided to sell of a lot of there companies that are in the PC market, which they backed out because they thought that the market was declining. In terms of them making a good decision I think that it was a good idea because this will mean a new thing will come to defeat the PCs.

  11. Hp are at decline. They have realised that there desktop PC's are no longer selling, so have decided to sell a major part of their business and have moved over to mobile devices such as the tablet. I feel they made a good decision because PC's are not selling anymore, so they need to focus on products which are at demand by the public, by challenging Apple's Ipad and making their own tablet.

  12. HP are at decline of the product lifestyle. This is because the interest in PC's are declining due to new technology such as Apple introducing the iPad. I think they have a made a good decision because the PC market is becoming smaller and people are losing interest as it's declining as a result they are lessing them and moving to the tablet market which has alot of growth as it's a new market. If HP could invest into it, they could establish themselves.

  13. HP think that PCs are at the decline stage of the product lifecycle. This is because the intrest has turned more towards mobile computing. This is things such as laptops, and mobiles. Also things like Apple's iPad and the android market. I believe that this was a good decision because if people are losing intrest in that sector of technology, they should wastwe money on the development of it. However, I would still prefer a good desktop PC over a laptop or another mobile device.

  14. The stage that HP believe that PCs are at is Decline as the market for PCs has decreased and trying to find another market to earn profit (tablets). I think they have made a good decisons as people are buying more tablets than PC's these days.

  16. Hp thinks that desktop pc are on the declining so they decide to sell of while it still worth lots of money. As laptops are becoming more popular i think they made the right decision as if they stayed too long in the market they would loose sales where now they are able to concentrate in newer markets

  17. I Think that HP thinks PCs are at decline stage of the prodcut life because more people are buying tablet and the sale rate for the PCs are decreasing. I think this is a good decision because it will mean that new and better things will be made.

  18. I think they have not made a good decision as although it will be good to sell most of the market before it collapses, they should keep a little bit of the market because it is quite a profitable cash cow still.
