One of Vodafone's main aims is linked to 'corporate social responsibility' (CSR). This is a measure of how well the business treats the communities and environment in which it operates (e.g. community projects to help alleviate poverty in third world countries and eco frindly projects to reduce their carbon footprint such as recycling). In 2008 they even won an award for their CSR, proof that they have made good progress towards achieving their aim.
Question: Why do you think Vodafone see CSR as so important? How might it help them be more successful?
customers see this and will think that the business is helping 3rd world countries, they will be more likly to buy products from the company, and this will help them become more succsessfull. winning the awaerd also gives them free publicity and advertises the business for the good it has done.
ReplyDeleteThey find this so important because then if they are helping the wolrd and helping third world countries etc. Then lots of people will buy vodafone phones and sim cards and stuff Because they are helping out the environment and the world and stuff.

Vodafone see coroprate social resonsibility as a very important thing becuase it builds a well regarded reputation which would be have a positive effect with regards to sales because many people may decide to use them because the money they make from sales goes towards helping those who are less fortunate.
