Self Esteem becauseee the employee could be praised etc to build their self esteem, for example and employee is praised for maximising sales, and make them feel loved:) Also these apraisals could help emloyees achieve 'social affection' because it can build the relationship with them both.

The stage of maslow's heirarchy of needs which the appraisals will help the employees achieve is self esteem because the targets set are to help the employee achieve their full potential making them more confident about their job.
Also, social affection as one of their targets could be team work or leadership skills causing their social skills and interaction with other people better.

  6. Charlotte: One of the main stages for this is the self appraisal stage this is where the employee gets rewarded by their boss for doing well this reward can come in the form of a premotion. Another one is social affection this helps as it is the interaction between the praiser and the praisee that helps to keep the praisee in good spirits so they can acheive more for themselves and the company.

Appraisals can help motivate employees and make them feel more confident about their future in the business and job security as well as making them think that their employers care about thier own progress and will be helping to improve it.

Appraisals may also improve the relationship between the employer and employee, as the pair will be discussing each ones progress.

If the employee is asked thier own opinion on the business and how it can be improved, it will make them feel more valued and that they are making a positive contribution to the business (self actualisation).

-self-esteem and status because it will boost the employees self-esteem if they tell the employer about their achievements and strengths.
-self-actualization because they can realize what they can achieve in the business and get advice of where to go from there.
-social affection because they communicate and spend time with their employer discussing aspects of the business.

Appraisals can help employees to achieve the self esteem stage of Maslow's hierarchy of needs. This is because when they are praised for meeting their targets their confidence is boosted therefore their self esteem is boosted. Appraisals could also give the employee a sense of belonging because it gives them time to communicate one on one with their employer. Lastly, appraisals can lead employees to the self actualization stage because it gives the employee a chance to see what they need to do to receive a promotion which could then lead to them getting the highest possible job they can, reaching self actualization.

    * Self Esteem because they should ma*e you feel valued for the wor* you have done.
    * Also I thin* the self actualisation theory can help as well because you are going to be told that you may be reaching your full potential.

it can help in the self esteem stage when you start to properly join the company. Then during the job security stage when your going to start moving up even further to the upper end of the company with managers and executives.

I think that appraisals can enable employees to reach different levels of Maslow's hierachy of needs. It can enable the employee to have self actualisation because they see what they can improve in themselves so can possibly get promotion ultimately. Also Social affection because the worker feels like they are wanted by the company because the company are taking time out of their day to talk to you about what you can do to improve.

  14. Izzi - Appraisals can help employees achieve stages in Maslow's hierachy of needs such as self esteem, and social affection. This is because finding out your strengths and weaknesses can push you to work harder and and feel better about what you are doing. It also helps achieve social affection because a good relationship between the boss and other workers is also a good motivator.

Appraisals can help employees self esteem because if they have targets set for them then they will feel like they have an objective to aim for and that there work is apreciated.
